THE JOURNEY
Anyone can begin the Journey, regardless of whether or not he or she is a member of Church Alive International.
Pre-Encounter Course
Pre-requisite: None. Registration is required.
The Pre-Encounter is a 2-week course (held once per week) for first-time CAI Encounter attendees. The course lays a foundation to help each participant maximize the benefit received from the Encounter experience. This course is a requirement for anyone planning to attend an Encounter for the first-time.
Encounter Retreat
Pre-requisite: Pre-Encounter. Registration is required.
The Encounter is a unique retreat weekend specific to men, women, or youth. Held at a secluded lodge within an hour from Roanoke, participants have the opportunity to break from everyday life and encounter God in new and powerful ways. The Encounter is not necessarily just a one-time experience. Numerous individuals choose to return for future Encounter Retreats, continually finding that God touches them in new and unique ways at each separate retreat. The Encounter Retreat will help the open participant face and deal with spiritual and emotional issues that may have been subtle or outright hindrances, either in the participant's own life or even going back to generations prior. The Encounter is filled with practical, biblical teaching so that each participant is led only in the way of Truth. Furthermore, the Encounter serves the purpose of establishing what oftentimes become lifelong friendships through fellowship, leisure, and wonderful meals together.
Returning Encounter attendees are not required to re-take the Pre-Encounter Course.
Post-Encounter Course
Pre-requisite: Encounter Retreat. Registration is required.
The Post-Encounter is a 7-week course filled with practical, foundational teaching, designed to help Encounter participants to solidify the freedom and liberty they have embraced in their encounter ith God. The course usually begins within one week following the Encounter Retreat, so that each participant is positioned for successfully walking out the renewed fervor and commitment made on the Encounter Retreat.
The completion of the Journey prepares the participant for School of Leaders.
